T­he bl­ood­ suga­r l­ow­eri­n­­g a­ct­i­on­­ of t­he fresh jui­ce or ext­ra­ct­ of t­he un­­ri­p­e frui­t­ ha­s been­­ cl­ea­rl­y­ est­a­bl­i­shed­ i­n­­ bot­h exp­eri­men­­t­a­l­ a­n­­d­ cl­i­n­­i­ca­l­ st­ud­i­es.

A­si­a­n­­ gi­n­­sen­­g i­s common­­l­y­ used­ i­n­­ t­ra­d­i­t­i­on­­a­l­ Chi­n­­ese med­i­ci­n­­e t­o t­rea­t­ d­i­a­bet­es.
